July 12, 1997
Horns, Hartzells & Menschs started arriving before 12 noon and continued coming and going all day. A total of 74 (based on those who signed the book and those I remembered being there but did not sign the book). It was a gorgeous day. In the 80's and sunny. Not very humid. The Crane's property was beautiful as always. Kids were in the pool even before lunch was served. Too much food. After everyone was done eating lunch a meeting was held. People this year as every year played cards (outside this year), volleyball, quoits and swam. Most of the people were leaving around 10 P.M. The temperatures were cooling off.
The meeting:
Melvin Hartzell called the meeting to order.
Secretary Lynn B. Coyle read the minutes from last years meeting. No
corrections/errors.
Report stands.
Treasurer Suzanne Sartini read the treasurers report. Balance as of 07-13-1996 208.52. $4.67 interest and $25 was paid to Lynn Coyle for mailings. Lynn returned $6. Balance: $194.19. No corrections/errors. Report stands
Election of officers: Eva said she likes the old officers with everyone sounding in agreement. Asked if any of the officers wanted to give up their job? They did not care one way or the other. If they were asked to stay fine but if anyone wanted to the job fine also. Who is the Vice
President? Raymond Hartzell. No volunteers so the officers stay as is:

Hartzells were unsure of who their historian was. The past secretary report was checked and the Hartzell historian was recorded as being Marjorie Hartzell Cook. Betty Jane Hartzell was quickly railroaded into being the new Hartzell historian and was told to have all updated information for next yr. Two announcements was made that Todd Hamm married and Alison Padula had a baby girl this year and might have married last yr.
Jim and Connie have invited us back again next yr. The reunion would be held same time next year, second Saturday of July. The date should be July 11, 1998.
Donations: $155. The Cranes supplied cans of beer this year and are unsure of what the total cost will be but it was decided that we would give them $66 for the beer $50 for having us.
A big thanks went out to Raymond Hartzell for again letting us use his tent.
Lynn Coyle announced that the book and a printout of everyone on her
mailing list and their addresses. Please sign the book and make any
changes/additions to the printout.
Donna Smith announced she is still working on the family tree and although she does not mind doing this she does need everyone's cooperation. She noted she would place the book over by the Lynn information and invited anyone and everyone to check it out.
There then was a lot of discussion as people chimed in and others started leaving. The question was brought up if the meeting had been adjourned. Melvin said that he had adjourned the meeting sometime ago.
Respectfully
Lynn B. Coyle
Secretary
