Once again the Horn, Hartzell, Mensch reunion was given a beautiful sunny
day- there was a light breeze was blowing.
The family - around 60 members
- sat down to lunch around 1:00. As always there was enough food to feed an army.
I mentioned it was a beautiful day - yes for socializing but not for swimming
- unless you were a kid and all the kids hit the pool as soon as they were done eating. They also all got out of the pool hours later shivering.
Of course there was the usual bingo playing but the players had to retreat to the pool house because the light breeze kept blowing away our bingo papers. There were so many bingo prizes that I think we all gave up before the prizes were all gone. Then there is always a rousing game of volleyball -on our slanted hillside court and the die-hard pinochle players gathered -one group in the kitchen and another group in the garage. While yet others played quoits, horseshoes or just mingled amongst themselves.
The day remained beautiful and was even still very light out yet when we left around 9:00 PM.
Most others were also gathering their items to leave or had already left. The food and tables had been cleaned up for some time now.
The meeting:
The meeting was called to order by President Melvin Hartzell.
The secretaries report was read by Lynn B Coyle. No corrections or errors.

A big thank you & $50 was given to Jim <& Connie for once again letting us use their property & home.
Elwood Mensch suggested that next year everyone wears a name tag but no one thought the kids would go for that.
Earl Mensch suggested that the post cards be done better next yr. The secretary apologized for the problem and Earl did not volunteer for the job of secretary when the elections came up so what can I say. I try!
Election of officers. No changes.
Angie Cyphers made everyone aware of the work that Donna Smith has done in creating an accurate and extensive family tree. Angie thought that Donnas work should be acknowledged - it takes a lot of time & effort.
Next year. Same date, time & Jim okayed the same place. Melvin adjourned the meeting noting "see you same time next year"!
Respectfully,
Lynn B Coyle
