Vice President, Elton Horn, called the meeting of the Horn, Hartzell & Mensch Reunion to order following our Covered Dish Luncheon. Our thanks to Elton Horn for giving the blessing before our meal.
Donna Smith read the minutes from last year with one correction made. The total of last year’s attendance was 96 – not all people signed the attendance book.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Angie Cyphers gave the treasurer’s report with the balance of $378.19. Collection was taken in the amount of $211.00. Expenses were as follows:
Postage - $0.00 (Lynn Coyle reported there was none since she used up the postcards from prior years; 2006 Park Rental -$75.00 was given to Betty Jane Hartzell; leaving a balance of $136.00 to be deposited in our account. The total balance in our account should be $514.00.
NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion was held on what to do with the monies in our treasury. It was decided to let the balance build and maybe someday we would be able to have a catered reunion.
The Elton Horn Family will organize next year’s reunion to be held at East Bangor Memorial Park on Sunday, July 9 with a theme of “Country Hoedown”.
Elections of officers were held as follows:
President: Elton Horn (moving up from Vice President)
Vice President: Raymond Hartzell
Secretary: Donna Smith
Treasurer: Suzanne Sartini
Family Webmaster: Lynn Coyle
Our appreciation to Lynn Coyle for her many years of service as secretary and our gratitude to her for creating and maintaining the Family Website located on http://www.geocities.com/hornhartzellmensch. Minutes and information for next year’s reunion will be posted. Secretary will also send postcards as well.

REUNION EVENTS:
Thanks to our committee, the Don & Shirley Ascani and Clark & Marilyn Mensch families for organizing this year’s reunion with a Mardi Gras Theme. Purple, yellow and green beads were given to everyone and lots of Cajun/Louisiana Style food was on hand. There were even some feathers flying around. Games were held for the children, quoits and horseshoes were available as well as Bingo and of course, our Cake Walk. 86 attended this year’s reunion on a beautiful sunny summer day.
